dreamwidth
DW’s a journaling site owned by the same folks who manage Ao3, and has been around for a while; I’ve seen a lot more posts about it here (not to mention more new folks over there?) recently, which makes me hopeful.
It’s not for everyone, as it absolutely caters to an older cadre of internet users and posts are not expected to be seen/go viral for many. However, if you like building your own websites and/or talking about the list of books you’ve read recently, you’re in good company. If you’ve always wished some personal posts can be set to private, guess what, you’re in good company. :D
I say this because if you want to a) get out of for-profit social media spaces, you can, and b) at all interested in following me over there, you can: https://walonvaus.dreamwidth.org
(I used to have a personal tumblr for general life chatter and art inspiration; this has been basically the spiritual successor of that non-art-persona space for me just to ramble on about other topics.)
